Strategic Painting: Magnum Opus

Here we are going to expand on each of the Team Members plans to create their ‘masterpiece’ army, and where they plan to see their years of work brought together! Smaugonite has already laid out his plans for his final goal; and on this page, we will go into depth on each of the Team’s plans for their very own armies!

Smaugonite

When deciding where Smaugonite would like his years of faithful dedication to lead, only one thing stood out among the rest as a ‘must have’:

TITANS!

As many people know, Smaugonite loves his Titans, and how they look when deployed on the battlefield alongside his mighty Custodes, or his Legion of Dark Angels! So it only seemed right that his final project focusses on having a full Maniple of Titans!

As you can see from the hand-drawn line sketch above, Smaugonite wants to have a grand total of 8 (!!!) Titans in his final maniple (with a view to getting two more Warhounds so they he can then bring this total to 10!), all of them being able to change their load outs to anything they desire! The below is the names of the Titans in this maniple:

For the rest of his Magnum Opus army, Smaugonite knew he’d have to include all of the Custodes he owns; and what better way to have a full force of loyalists, than with the most loyal of all of the Emperors forces! Alongside the Ten Thousand, Smaugonite originally planned to have a force of each of the loyalist Legions, however that plan got put onto the back-burner when the decision was made to expand on his Titan Legions. So instead, he decided to focus on using any marines he had in his collection for a single Legion, and what better than the First Legion, the Legion purpose built for all kinds of warfare! So for now there will only be one Space Marine Legion, meaning that the Magnum Opus army will be just Titans, Custodes and Dark Angels!
